“Anna Konik strives to get at the essence of ultimate states, an effort reflected in the life stories told by aged individuals for whom what “was” is infinite, much larger than what might still be. What “was” is almost everything. (…) Anna Konik offers us a very credible picture of the difference between the reality of remembered experience and its copy. (..) Anna Konik does not ask viewers to invade someone’s precariously held together world. Polish artist Anna Konik is currently artist in residence at Landis&Gyr foundation in Zug. Her works have been shown internationally, e.g. National Centre for Contemporary Art in Moscow (2006), Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart (2004), in public space in Berlin (2003) and at Kleist-Festival in Frankfurt (Oder) (2002).
